Terra Gains Approval of New GHG Offset Protocol for Rangelands
Today the American Carbon Registry (ACR), a nonprofit greenhouse gas (GHG) program that oversees the creation of rigorous carbon accounting protocols as well as the independent verification and registration of carbon offset projects, approved a tool designed to enlist ranchers in the fight against climate change. The new protocol developed by Terra Global Capital, with support from the Environmental Defense Fund, Silver Lab at the University of California - Berkeley, and the Marin Carbon Project allows ranchers to generate tradable emission reductions for land management practices that build soil carbon and reduce emissions from landfills.
